Becoming a teacher is a great way to positively influence the next generation and the community around you.
Teachers are driven to challenge themselves as well as their students to become the best they can be. The teacher education programs at the University of Delaware provide high quality preparation using the latest research in preparing tomorrow’s education professionals.
The School of Education offers three undergraduate degrees in Elementary Teacher Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Elementary Teacher Education
- Honors Bachelor of Science in Elementary Teacher Education

The bachelor degrees are four-year programs where students are eligible to earn a second teaching certificate in special education or a middle school content area in addition to the elementary teaching certificate. Students in the Associate in Arts program complete the first two years of the Bachelor of Science degree on the Georgetown campus.
The School also offers three minors for any University of Delaware student who is interested in learning more about the field of education. Gaining expertise in these areas can support professional growth in various career paths.
