Accelerated 4+1 Degree in Educational Technology
Save time and money by completing your bachelor’s and master’s degree in only five years!
As the use of AI and other technologies continue to grow, the M.Ed. in Educational Technology 4+1 program provides UD undergraduates with the knowledge and training to use technology effectively and responsibly for teaching, learning and assessment. Students across 23 UD elementary, middle and secondary education programs can earn their master’s degree with just one more year of study.

Eligible Undergraduate ProgramsUD undergraduates in the following elementary, middle, and secondary education programs can earn their M.Ed. in Educational Technology with only one more year of study. Undergraduates can begin taking graduate coursework after completing their freshmen year of undergraduate studies.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
UD education majors can apply to the 4+1 program in educational technology after earning at least 30 undergraduate degree credits, with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA at time of application.
To apply, complete the UD graduate admissions online application using the abbreviated 4+1 application form. Specific requirements include:
- Transcript: A copy of an unofficial University of Delaware transcript. of previous academic work.
- Essay: A personal statement (essay) is required. In the essay, respond to any or all of the prompts and questions below.
- Outline your educational plans and career goals and discuss how your proposed plan of graduate study in Educational Technology relates to them. What specific attributes of the Educational Technology program at the University of Delaware lead you to believe that this degree is appropriate to help you achieve your professional objectives? What area(s) of Educational Technology are of special interest to you?
- Describe an issue in education facing students, teachers, administrators, schools, families, the community, etc. Propose a solution to this problem where Educational Technology might help mitigate it.
- Describe an experience in your own life that influenced your decision to focus your graduate studies on Educational Technology.
- Graduate Course Approval Form. Students will complete the Graduate Course Approval Form to replace three undergraduate electives in for three graduate courses from this program. The graduate educational technology credits can be completed starting in the sophomore year, and 9 graduate credits must be completed before graduating with an undergraduate degree.
