Professional Experiences and Interests
Dr. Kristen D. Ritchey is a professor in the School of Education at the University of Delaware. Her specialty is in special education, and she has experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities in elementary school and has worked with high school students and adults with a variety of learning and other disabilities. Dr. Ritchey teaches courses in instructional methods for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
Her research focuses on identification and intervention for elementary children with reading and writing disabilities. Recent work includes research on universal screening for academic difficulties, Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions in reading for fourth and fifth grade students, and curriculum based measurement in early writing.
