Tour Campus

You can schedule an information session and tour of campus online throughout the year. The session with the Admissions counselor and tour with a student guide lasts approximately 2 hours.

Attend an Open House Event

The Admissions Office provides several open house events throughout the year where you can learn about the University of Delaware in general and about the Elementary Teacher Education major specifically. Information about these events is available online.

  • Discovery Days in July
  • Blue and Golden Saturdays in September and October
  • Decision Days in April

Meet with the Senior Advisor

Vickie Lucas, the ETE senior advisor, would be glad to meet with you to talk in depth about the major and to answer your questions about it. Please feel free to contact her at or (302) 831-8933 to arrange a meeting. Her office is located at 134C Willard Hall.

Visit a Class

If you would like to visit an education course that is required for freshmen and sophomores in the ETE major, you can contact Vickie Lucas at or (302) 831-8933 to identify a class to attend. Some possible courses to visit are:

  • Human Development: Grades K-8 on Tuesdays or Thursdays
  • Introduction to Exceptional Children on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays
  • Mathematics for K-8 Teachers on Tuesdays and Thursdays


The University of Delaware has an online interactive map of campus and a link for driving directions to the University Visitors Center on this web page. The Willard Hall Education building is located at 16 West Main Street and is a 10-minute walk up South College Avenue from the University Visitors Center. Parking is available across the street from Willard Hall in the Trabant University Center Parking garage.
